How to Build a Blog Content Plan for Local Business SEO

A simple content planning framework for local businesses that want blog posts to support real service pages.

Do not start with random topics

A local business blog should not be a diary and should not be a pile of generic SEO posts. Start with the services that make money, then write posts that answer the questions people ask before buying those services.

Step 1: Pick your money pages

Choose 3-6 service pages that matter most. For this site, examples are:

  • Custom websites
  • Local SEO
  • Booking systems
  • Event ticketing
  • Custom web apps
  • Step 2: List customer questions

For each service, list what buyers ask:

  • How much does it cost?
  • How long does it take?
  • What is included?
  • Do I need this or something simpler?
  • What happens after launch?
  • What mistakes should I avoid?
  • Step 3: Turn questions into posts

Each question can become a useful article. Keep the article focused. Answer the question clearly. Link to the relevant service page only when it helps the reader.

Step 4: Add proof and local context

A useful local article should include examples, local service areas, real project references, and practical next steps. Do not write like a national SEO encyclopedia if your customers are local.

Step 5: Update posts over time

Google does not reward fake freshness. But real updates matter. If pricing changes, tools change, or you add a real project example, update the article.

    Bottom line

A good content plan starts with revenue, not keywords. Write useful answers around the services you want to sell, then connect those answers with internal links.
